Senior Director, University Career Center
Michelle is the Senior Director of UTSA’s University Career Center, which includes the Health Professions Office. A former U.S. Air Force finance officer turned higher education leader, she specializes in connecting students with top-tier opportunities. With over 17 years of experience in career management, Michelle’s expertise spans career education, development, and employer relations, where she has consistently driven innovation and scalability.
Before joining UTSA, Michelle spent 13 years at Texas McCombs, The University of Texas at Austin, where she began as a career advisor and lecturer for the full-time MBA program. She later transitioned to the employer relations side, ultimately serving as Director of Employer and Alumni Engagement for the Texas McCombs MBA Program. During her tenure, the program’s career management team was recognized as one of Poets & Quants’ Best MBA Career Centers of 2019.
In February 2021, Michelle took on the newly created role of Director of Employer Engagement at UTSA, where she played a key role in the transformation of the University Career Center. She is excited to be part of the leadership team driving the development and implementation of innovative programming and initiatives. In her current role as Senior Director, she manages the career development team, the employer engagement team and the health professions office, supporting students campus-wide.
Michelle has strong roots in San Antonio. She grew up on Fort Sam Houston, attended Trinity University for her undergraduate studies, and was stationed at Lackland AFB during her time in the Air Force. Now, she’s happy to be back in her hometown with her husband, Ben, a San Antonio native and UTSA alumnus, and their son, Alex.
She earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Trinity University, an M.P.A. from The University of Washington and an M.A. in Advertising from The University of Texas. While attending Trinity University, Michelle was a member of UTSA’s AFROTC Det 842, so she considers herself an honorary Roadrunner. Birds up!
